• Buffalo Bill State Park Campgrounds (North Fork / North Shore Bay) — About 6–9 miles west of Cody on US-14/16/20, right along Buffalo Bill Reservoir. Reservations through Wyoming State Parks book out early for August — plan accordingly.
• Wapiti / Eagle Creek / Rex Hale Campgrounds (Shoshone National Forest) — Further west along the North Fork Highway, these are first-come, first-served and tend to fill Thursday–Sunday during fair week. I don’t recommend banking on these for a planned fair trip unless someone in your group is willing to drive out early and claim a site.
